TESTING DANGO TESTNET FROM CELO

Celo (1265) is a blockchain built for the real world. Scaling Ethereum with real-world solutions, leading a thriving new digital economy for everyone.

Celo has an impressive list of investments worth nearly $105M, with investors ranging from Coinbase Ventures, Polychain Capital, to Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).

In early July, in anticipation of the EthCC 2024 event, the project announced about the launch of a fork of the Alfajores test network - Dango Testnet, built on the basis of OP Stack from Optimism.

A successful launch of Dango allows you to begin updating the latest Layer-2 node code. Once all key infrastructure providers are updated, Alfajores will be updated (without creating a new fork). Having completed the first major milestone in the expected time frame of summer 2024, the team expects the ongoing migration work to culminate in the launch of the Celo Layer-2 mainnet in early winter 2024.

In the meantime, we are invited to test the functions and feel the differences between the test network and the existing Celo Layer-1.

WHAT TO DO?

1. Add Celo Dango Testnet to your wallet;

2. Let's go to Dango Token Faucet and request test tokens. If we want to get 10 times more tokens, log in via Github;

3. Next we go to tapto request Holesky ETH;

4. Go to bridge, connect the wallet, click Withdraw and transfer a certain amount of CELO to the Holesky network. Then we switch to Deposit and send tokens in the opposite direction.
