The TON Core team continues develop ecosystem, optimizing the network infrastructure and implementing innovative solutions. Key areas of work for the next six months include updating the main network, improving tools for validators, improving the API, developing the user experience, launching a second-level payment network, researching sidechains, developing the TOLK 1.0 programming language, and supporting cross-chain solutions.
Accelerator Mainnet Update
The TON Core team has completed its research and is starting to upgrade the main network, implementing the “window architecture” in accordance with the technical documentation. The process will be carried out in stages and will take about six months.
Key changes:
1. Shardchain identification optimization - nodes only track masterchain and shardchains settings, improving performance.
2. Separation of validator functions - separate roles have been introduced: Collator (block collection) and Validator (block confirmation), which increases the efficiency of the network.
3. Infinite segmentation - improving network stability under load.
4. Reduced resource requirements - efficient block management reduces consumption.
5. Stable transaction processing time - predictability even under high network load.
Upcoming technical steps include tuning collators and validators, optimizing data storage, improving sorting algorithms, and testing new mechanisms on the testnet.
New tools for validators
To improve the efficiency of validators, the following will be implemented:
1. MyTonCtrl backup restore function – quick transfer of the validator to a new server.
2. Telegram bots – notifications about fines, updates and voting.
3. Web dashboard - validators status, software performance and relevance.
4. Improved documentation - detailed instructions and guidance for new validators.
In addition, TON Core is considering increasing fines for non-participation in validation, organizing training events, and developing protection against DDoS attacks through TON Proxy.
New version of Toncenter API
To improve user experience with the network, the Toncenter API is being updated:
1. Enhanced Traces API - Simplified transaction analysis.
2. Human-readable API actions - automatic description of transactions.
3. TON DNS server support – improved service integration.
4. API emulation - testing transactions before sending them.
Improving user experience
TON Core will develop recommendations for DeDust, MyTonWallet, TonScan.org, ton.diamonds and Stakee products, including:
1. Displaying transactions in a clear manner.
2. Visualization of pending operations.
3. Optimistic UX – Instant display of transactions before they are finally confirmed.
4. Cross-ecosystem synchronization.
Additionally, new features will be added to the Toncenter API, and smart contracts will be adapted for improved compatibility.
Launch of the second-level payment network
A payment network based on payment channels is being developed, providing:
1. Instant transfers with micro-commissions.
2. Simple asset exchanges.
The network is currently in beta testing, and plans are underway to refine it, add token support, and implement swaps.
Research on sidechains
TON Core is exploring the possibility of creating TVM sidechains for specific tasks, such as high-frequency trading. The team will not launch them, but will offer support in:
1. Development of solutions.
2. Conducting competitions.
3. Providing technical expertise.
Communication between sidechains and Layer 1 can be done through bridges or trusted interaction mechanisms.
Development of the TOLK 1.0 programming language
The updated TOLK 1.0 language will receive:
1. Improved type system.
2. Support for structures and auto-serialization.
3. Parliament with a pattern (pattern matching).
In parallel, tools are being developed: plugins for IntelliJ IDEA and VS Code, support in Blueprint. Expected stages:
1. Releasing intermediate versions (TOLK 0.7–0.11) with type system improvements and automatic ABI generation.
2. Development of a standard for safe data typing.
3. Support for the launch of TON BTC Teleport
TON BTC Teleport is a cross-chain solution for transferring assets between TON and Bitcoin without intermediaries, developed by RSquad. TON Core provides support for integration into MyTonCtrl, development of cross-chain technologies and technical consulting.
Additional initiatives
1. Developer competitions – competitions to optimize TON components.
2. Standardization of wallet mnemonics - solution to incompatibility with cross-chain wallets.
3. Audit of the multiple account algorithm - checking the secure way of creating child accounts.
4. Jetton FunC precompiled contract is an optimized and secure standard for tokens.
5. Unified test suite for SDK - implementation of tests for Python, Kotlin, JavaScript and Go.
Results
The TON Core team is actively working on upgrading the network and improving the user experience. Updates will affect all aspects of the ecosystem - from the basic infrastructure to the convenience of user interaction with the blockchain, which will allow TON to scale for hundreds of millions of users.
